Rosslare's MD-81 is designed to be used with the AY-U900 or AY-U910 when multiple UHF credentials must be read simultaneously and then transmitted to the Wiegand input of an access control panel.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
In applications where multiple UHF credentials are to be read simultaneously, a large quantity of ID data is sent to an access control panel. Most access control panels receive ID data in Wiegand format and the Wiegand inputs of these panels usually cannot support receiving ID data at a high data rate. This can result in some ID data being lost and therefore not seen by the access control panel.
The MD-81 is an interface placed between the reader and the access control panel to resolve this problem. It receives high speed ID data on an RS-232 communications bus, identifies unique IDs, buffers them, and then transmits them in Wiegand 26-Bit or 34-Bit format (depending on the output received from the reader) with a 2.5-second delay between each Wiegand transmission that any access control panel can receive.
The MD-81 can work with any reader that outputs ID Data over RS-232 and with any Wiegand 26-Bit or 34-Bit controller. It is suitable for use with the AY-U900 or AY-U910 and any Rosslare access control panel. The MD-81 comes with a DB-25 to DB-9 adapter for use with the AY-U910, as well as a 1.5 m (5 ft) RS-232 cable.
